GamerLog ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information you provide
- Account details: email address, username, display name, avatar, bio
- Profile information: role (gamer / developer / both), social links
- Content you create: posts, comments, game listings, reviews, studio pages
- Communications: messages sent through contact forms or support
Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs
- Device information: operating system, screen resolution
- Cookies and local storage used to maintain your session
Information from third parties
- OAuth data from Google or Discord if you sign in via those providers (email, profile picture, name)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and improve the GamerLog platform
- To authenticate you and maintain your session
- To display your public profile, posts, and games to other users
- To send transactional emails (password resets, notifications)
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and fraud
- To compile anonymised analytics about platform usage
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for ad targeting.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share data only with:
- Supabase — our database and auth provider (hosted on AWS, EU region)
- Cloudflare R2 — media storage for uploaded images
- Vercel — hosting and edge delivery
- Law enforcement when required by valid legal process
4. Public Content
Content you post publicly (games, posts, reviews, profile information) is visible to all users and may be indexed by search engines. You control what you share. Private interactions (e.g. unread notifications, bookmarks) are only visible to you.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Export your data in a portable format

7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying logged in.

GamerLog is not directed at children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete their data promptly. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of GamerLog after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
